Hurry! New Year resolutions start soon!
Your employees will again use New Year to make resolutions to kick-start a more physically active and healthier lifestyle, however, even before the end of January these positive habits will likely be long forgotten. Fortunately, as a responsible employer you have a unique opportunity to improve your employees’ New Year successes by inviting your workforce to participate in your own company Workplace Virtuathon to provide the focus, commitment, guidance, support and motivation required for their New Year resolutions to be a success. |
We've collaborated with Health@Work to align our programme with standards set by the Workplace Wellbeing Charter, the accreditation standard that is built on best practice, the latest research and business sense.
It's also influenced by the suggested Five Ways to Mental Wellbeing set out in the Government's Foresight report by the New Economics Foundation; Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give – a set of evidence-based actions to improve personal wellbeing.

“Thank you for your help!!! I found the Get Event Fit app great for me. I am really not a runner and it took me through a very challenging process in a fantastic way. I found the articles very, very helpful and I love the yoga video for runners… I really found it very motivational even when I felt I couldn't run!!”

Connect with colleagues.
In addition to planning, tracking and monitoring Virtuathon training activity, the ability to connect with colleagues in private communities on Strava brings a social element to training for your Workplace Virtuathon – share training tips with colleagues, discover and build new training routes, discuss your progress and even post your times to a shared leaderboard. The Strava app turns every iPhone and Android into a sophisticated running computer to easily plan your route and then track your favourite performance stats.

How Virtuathon works.
There are two types of Workplace Virtuathon; Organised (next one in May 2018) and Personalised to your organisation. All Workplace Virtuathon's are 'virtual' challenges so they can be completed at any location – employees can run outside or on a treadmill, individually or with colleagues, they can even walk providing they complete the distance!
Comprehensive beginners training with integrated employee wellbeing is delivered daily via the Get Event Fit app to educate, inspire and regularly motivate your employees throughout their training journey. They're then rewarded with a Virtuathon® finishers medal for all their hard work. |
Incredible benefits.
Less active employees often lack confidence in their own physical ability and are therefore unlikely to take part in an organised physical event. Workplace Virtuathon is designed specifically to maximise employee participation, especially beginners and the less active, to benefit your organisation, employees and chosen charities.
